Tends machines that automatically wash, fill, and seal cans in
cannery: Pushes buttons and levers on control panel to start
machines and monitors machine operations to verify that can
washer, can food and liquid filler, can sealer, and conveyor
mechanisms function in prescribed sequence. Observes cans
leaving machines to detect defects, such as overfilled cans or
misaligned lids.
Pushes buttons to stop machines when machines
malfunction, and notifies Maintenance Mechanic (any industry)
638.281-014 of detected defects.
